Re: Essential or Critical Services
Dear Valued Partner,
KIK is closely monitoring federal and state notices and have confirmed that in each applicable jurisdiction, KIK products have been deemed “Critical” or “Essential”. We remain fully operational, continuing to service our customers while adhering to government and health regulations.
As such, KIK Suppliers’ activities supporting KIK’s “Critical” or “Essential” activities are also deemed “Critical” or “Essential”.
The KIK Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Team has developed plans to manage the different challenges across our business units by driving the supply chain to match pace with increased customer demand. To support the changing consumer patterns, we have made the following changes:
- Simplifying product portfolio
- Developing and communicating 13-week dependent demand forecasts
- Expanding operations to 3rd shift and weekends
- Leveraging relationships with FEMA-preferred carriers to ensure ability to deliver torestricted areas, if necessary
With the increase in demand for chlorine, caustic, and resins, we are experiencing slight delays in rail car shipments. If you experience shortages or delays, please notify the delivery facility immediately.

APPLICABLE LEGISLATION
Per DHS’s published guidance, “Workers who support the production and transportation of chlorine and alkali manufacturing,” and “Workers necessary for the manufacturing of materials and products needed for transportation,” are deemed essential.
Per California, Order of the Health Office No C19-07, in the document, 10. Definition and exemptions – item XV. “Businesses that supply other essential businesses with the support or supplies necessary to operate” are deemed essential.
Per Pennsylvania’s “Life Sustaining Business” declaration, Transportation & Warehousing for “support activities for transportation” and chemical manufacturing for “soap, cleaning compound and toilet preparation” are deemed essential.
Ohio’s Director’s “Order to Stay at Home” follows guidance published by DHS’s CISA as which deemed essential.
Per Louisiana’s “Stay at Home Order” follows guidance published by DHS’s CISA as which deemed essential.
